Getting a remote handbrake to work seemed like a simple task, but took quite some time to sort. Used a modified knott brake cable from a trailer and adjusted mini hardware.
Don't "need" one for a track only car or could have used hydraulic, could have located it anywhere for a road car with plenty of options. But wanted to have it in reach in case of an issue with the standard brake system as a last resort.
